My BAFAB Contest #2: Results!
Last night, Medbie correctly identified the book that I'm giving away for BAFAB, a (used) copy of Michael Palin's Hemingway's Chair.
I first posted this contest on April 2nd. My first BAFAB Contest was posted on April 1st, and the book I was thinking of was identified very quickly. This time the identification took over a week, primarily, I think, because it was not a book I'd reviewed at book-blog.com, so the possibilities weren't narrowed down as quickly. It was interesting to watch as participants stabbed around, narrowly missing the mark with guesses of Eric Idle's The Greedy Bastard Tour of America (which is on my TBR shelves, in fact) and John Cleese's Families and How to Survive Them.
So, it's now time for my drawing. Participants earned one or two entries in the drawing, depending on how many questions they asked. By correctly identifying the book I was thinking of, Medbie earned an extra three entries in the drawing.
I will now plug all of the entries into the Acme Random Number Generator....
But before I do, let me say that with these two very successful contests under my belt I think I've discovered my favorite means of giving away books. There will be more such exercises in the future (with, however, probably some tweaking of the rules as I discover what works best).
Here goes... The numbers are entered, the machine is fired up, making clunking sounds, and it spits out a number whose corresponding human entity is...
MEDBIE aka GYPSI wins the book! Woohoo!
